Your Stanwood Chronicles: Over the years the two communities acquired the name, the “Twin Cities.” During that time, the town of "Stanwood" was the area by the waterfront. In 1918, Lien Bros. Packing Co. was established on the waterfront, before the current Twin City Foods was open. The rail connection was still necessary so Twin City Foods Company built its own railroad spur north of town. Today it is one of the country’s leading private-label frozen vegetable processing facilities.
