Your Stanwood Chronicles: The waterfront was still important for many years as the site of two large mills and the location of the granary. Later known as the Stanwood Grain Company that sold the grain for the farmers as it was shipped out, the company moved to the depot site about 1914. About 1941, it became the Twin City Grain Company. Today the Wolfkill Feed and Fertilizer Company still operates a grain elevator at this site.

Your Stanwood Chronicles: The town of Stanwood was located by the water by Twin City Foods and the town of East Stanwood was located by the railroad tracks. The Hall and Hall Railroad was established by John and Alice Hall to connect the two towns-they also operated the Stanwood Feed and Livery that provided carriage service and operated a streetcar. Sometimes students in Stanwood used the one mile H.& H. railroad to get to school.
